At the beginning of the play Richard speaks of how it is a time of peace. He also talks about his physical deformity (a curved spine). After moaning over how his deformity denies him worldly pleasures Richard tells us of his plot to have his brothers murder each other. Richard wants his brothers dead and his brother's children dead so he can ascend to the throne unchallenged. M. Godwin 1st
After reading the introduction multiple times I have come to the conclusion that Ritchard does not want anything. Although he might actually be wishing for something, I cannot really understand what he is talking about.
At the beginning of the play, Richard talks about his physical deformity. I believe he wishes he no longer had this deformity, and that maybe, one day, he will find love.
