    When the play starts out we are introduced to Iago and Roderigo, who are having an argument on a street in Venice. Iago says people advance because of love and cleverness instead of superiority, this irritates him. The complaint is that Iago believes he deserves the girl and money and everything good. Not someone else, he is selfish in his ways.

    In Act One, Egeus is trying to make Hermia marry Demetrius, but Hermia wants to marry Lysander, so they decide to run away together. Also, we are introduced to the actors in the play within the play. Helena loves Demetrius, but Demetrius loves Hermia, but Hermia loves Lysander and Lysander loves her back. Hermia and Lysander decide to run away to elope because they love each other. They confide their secret in Helena, who decides to tell Demetrius in hope of him falling in love with her while they are out looking for Hermia and Lysander.

    In Act 1,

    Egeus wants Hermia to marry Demetrius, and Hermia wants to marry Lysander, who loves Hermia back. Helena loves Demetrius, but Demetrius loves Hermia. Hermia and Lysander tell Helena that they plan to run away together and Helena wants Demetrius to fall in love with her so she decides to confess to him. We also meet actors that will be in a play.

  4. In Act I Egeus is trying to convince his daughter Hermia to marry Demetrius. The law says that she must abide by his wished or Egeus can have her killed. However, the problem, with this is that Hermia is in love with Lysander and Lysander with Hermia. Because of his refusal to allow Hermia and Lysander to be together, they decide to run away. While in the woods Hermia runs into Helena. Helena hates Hermia hates because Demetrius loves Hermia but she loves Demetrius. As you can see this story is much more than a normal love triangle. (M.   5. In act one, Egues is trying to force his daughter to marry Demetrius, but Hermia want to marry Lysander. Lysander and Demetrius fight over Hermia in the presence of the King, Thesues, and his soon to be bride, Hippolyta. Hermia and Helena discuss Hermia's predicament, where we learn that Helena love Demetrius. When Demetrius learns that Hermia and Lysander plan to run away, he follows them into the forest, Helena following.
