  1. A tragic hero is a character that has a flaw that will be the death of them and that the audience will feel bad for them after they die. I think Brutus is fits best into the tragic hero character in the book. As Brutus dies he says "Farewell, good Strato. Caesar, now be still. I killed no thee with half s good a will." Brutus killed Caesar , but with the belief that Caesar was going to ruin the Roman way of life. The audience feels bad for Brutus because he did what he thought was necessary and that action was his downfall. C. Fields(5)

    1. I agree that tragic hero's do obtain a tragic flaw and Brutus is a great example of one. I also believe since Cassius has the same tragic flaw that he could be an example of this as well. AZac-Williams6

  2. Tragic Hero is a character who due to fate, falls greatly. This character is noble, recognizes the results from their actions, has a tragic flaw, and suffers a quick downfall from having it all as said by Dictionary.com. I believe Brutus is the tragic hero because he upholds all characteristics of a tragic hero. Brutus is no doubt noble and loved by many even by Caesar. He recognizes the results of his actions and sacrifices himself to avenger Caesar's death. " Caesar, now your ghost can rest in peace. I did not kill you half so eagerly as I killed myself." (Act V, Scene v, pg 191). Brutus realizes what he has to do to make things right and does so. Brutus's tragic flaw was his Betrayal to Caesar and letting others convince him to take his friend down. Brutus went from having power due to his choices but suffers just as quickly as he gained power.

  3. A tragic hero is a person of noble birth with heroic qualities. The characterizes are someone who has had a tragic fall that has caused down fall, has excessive pride, and reversal of fate that the hero experiences. In my option Brutus qualifies to be a tragic hero because he shows all the signs of a tragic hero. His tragic fall was when Caesar dies and it caused down fall for him. Evidence of this is "Why, this, Volumnius: The ghost of Caesar hath appear'd to me. Two several times by night; at Sardis once, And this last night here in Philippi fields: I know my hour is come."n (Act V, pg. 116)

  4. A Tragic Hero is a great character in a dramatic tragedy who is destined for defeat. The Character has a tragic flaw, heroic, recognizes the results of their actions, and suffers a downfall. Brutus is a Tragic hero because he had all the characteristics. He recognized that the result of him helped kill Caesar was that he would have to die. He shows this by saying "Caesar, thou canst not die by traitors' hands, unless thou bring'st them with the. ( Act 5, Scene 1, pg 168). This meant that he know that for Caesar to rest in peace He must die. His down fall was that he killed himself. He was a noble man also. His Tragic flaw was he allowed other people convince him to kill Caesar.
