  1. Option 1
Beatrice in Act 3 Scene 1 Page 5, Gives up on staying unmarried and states that she is giving up because she knows how people act toward her when she had this mentality of not being married which was very hateful. She uses the saying "Benedick, keep on loving me and I will return your love, like a wild hawk being tamed by her handler."(Act 3 Scene 1 Page 5) I thought that the way she said like a hawk was cool. Then she continues on to line up her Proposing to him in her mind. After that she exits and Scene 1 ends. (C.Vincent 5th.)

    1. I felt like the hawk comment was kind of derogatory because it made it seem like her marrying him would be the same as him owning her. Which is ironic because that's exactly why she opposed marriage at the beginning of the play. (Z. Simmons 1st)

  2. Is what they just said true? Do people actually judge me for being independent? If this is true, then I will no longer be against marriage! These people are talking bad about me behind my back and I will not stand for it. Benedick, keep on loving me and I will reciprocate those feelings like a wild hawk being tamed by her trainer. I promise that I will start being nice to you, and if you really love me, that’ll make you want to marry me. I believe it when they say that you deserve my love, and it’s not at all because of what the others said.

    1. I like this soliloquy from Beatrice because in the beginning she did not believe in love. This shows where she began to believe in it. Her and Benedick start to love each other and Beatrice said it was out of her own love, not just because of what others said. This shows where Beatrice becomes less witty and mean towards Benedick and expresses her love for him. B.Massengale 7th

  3. Option 1
    G. Cime 2nd period
    Act 3 scene 1 page 5 lines 112-123
I am so mad and have shame for myself. Do people really judge me for the way I am? So now I should change and open up to the idea of marriage. I do not want people to talk about me behind my back. Benedick should keep on loving me and I will love him. I should be kinder so that we can soon get married. Others say that you deserve my love and I believe it but not because they said so.

    1. I think that this is something that Beatrice would actually say. When I read it I could visualize it coming from her, you definitely captured her voice and put it in your own words. ( A.Davis 1st)

    2. This soliloquy frustrates me so much, because Beatrice is basically changing her beliefs because she's worried about her reputation. In my opinion, one shouldn't let other opinions change what you believe in. (E Crawford 5)

-The flood damage was so bad they had to evaporate the city. (evacuate)
-Dad says the monster is just a pigment of my imagination. (figment)

  7. Option 1- "Is it true what I am hearing? Do i get criticized for my pride and being scornful? Then farewell to me being unmarried. Nothing good comes out of peoples mouth behind my back. Benedick keep on loving me and i will return it, while being tamed like a wild hawk. My kindness will be shown to you if you really love me and if that kindness excites you then we can get married. People say you deserve my love and i believe it, not just because they said." (3.1.113-122) 7th- B.Massengale

  8. Option 1
Act III, Scene i, page 34
Beatrice overhears Hero and Ursula discussing how lovesick Benedick is for her (Beatrice) and how incapable she is of appreciating him or taking him seriously. She reveals herself and states: I am so ashamed! Can this be true? Am I really condemned for being prideful and scornful? Then farewell to Contempt and say goodbye to my pride! No glory is made of me behind my back. Benedick, love on. I will tame my wild heart to your loving hand, and if you really love me my kindness should encourage you to seal our love through a wedding band. If others say you deserve my love, then I believe it to be true. Z. Simmons 1st

  9. What a rush! Is what they're saying true? Do I have too much pride and make fun of people as much as they say? Well, no more of that! Keep loving me Benedick, and I shall return it. I'll be nice to you and if you do love me, my kindness will cause you to reveal your love to me and marry me. You deserve my love as the others say, and I don't think that just because they said so.

    1. I like the way you reworded this quote. It puts the words of Shakespeare in terms that modern people will understand better. I like the words and phrases you used to replace Shakespeare because it can be hard to try and find different words to use without copying the original text. In my opinion, you did a good job in picking words and your quote also gives the full meaning of the original quote with nothing left out.

  10. Option 1
Is that really how people see me? A reputation of pride and disdain! Am I always self-centered and unapproachable?? Benedick sure doesn't seem to mind. I guess I should confess my love for Benedick as if he feels something then I should too. Now I feel like if I marry Benedick I would truly be happy, maybe he is my ideal man. My feelings for him differ from my feelings towards others, I don't know it is just something about he that makes my heart fell different. However I cannot deny that he does possess great qualities despite what I have said about him. Maybe I should go have a talk with him and change my reputation around for once. (A.Davis 1st )

  11. S.Laguerre 2nd Option 1 Act 3 Scene 1 Lines 110-119
What garbage am I hearing? Is this true? Forget you, and your pride, Goodbye!!!!!!!! Your lives. are not delightful considering you talking behind my back. Benedick keep on loving me for I will return the favor, our loving hands caressing each other. If you do love me, my kindness should be towards you. Our love bound up together in wedding rings. The others say that we deserve and I surely do believe it.

    1. I really like the tone and expression you use throughout the paraphrase. I could really feel the emotion coming out and it is more dramatic than the play. You hit the main points of her soliloquy.(G.Cime 2nd)

  12. Act 3 sc1 lines 114-122
    option 1
What are these sharp hurtful words that make their way to my ears?
Is it so true? Should i stand punished for my pride so much? Satisfied, goodbye, and so long! Glory does not live behind the backs of such. And Benedick! he can love on. I will return the affection. To tame my wild heart with his loving hand. If he loves me my kindness shall excite him. To bind us in marriage. For other say it is deserving and i believe it.
